Salary Range:  Up to £53.8k per annum (dependent on skills & qualifications)

Location: Glasgow, Edinburgh or Horley (Hybrid working)

Overall Purpose of job
This is a high-profile role at the heart of SGN’s stakeholder engagement strategy, offering the opportunity to work closely with senior leaders and deliver impactful events. You will be responsible for the planning and delivery of SGN’s stakeholder events and maintaining our Stakeholder Relationship Management (SRM) system using Tractivity. Working closely with the Stakeholder Engagement Manager and across the wider Stakeholder Engagement and External Affairs teams, you will ensure our stakeholder events are professional and effectively executed to achieve our goals. This role also provides secretariat to SGN’s Independent Stakeholder Group (ISG), a panel of external experts who provide advice, support and challenge on a range of issues which are of interest to customers and stakeholders to ensure that their feedback continues to shape the company’s decision-making.

Key responsibilities

Stakeholder events

Support the stakeholder strategy team by organising and delivering multi-channel engagement programmes, including workshops, conferences and webinars.Project manage planning meetings with internal stakeholders, ensuring actions are assigned and completed on time.Handle all event logistics; from researching and booking venues and audio-visual suppliers, to on-the-day delivery and live event support.Maintain a forward-looking schedule of relevant third-party conferences and events for the directorate.Advise and support SGN colleagues on best practice approaches to events.Responsible for the management of SGN’s inventory of exhibition displays and ensuring high quality materials are aligned with SGN’s brand and visual identity guidelines.

Stakeholder Relationship Management (SRM) using Tractivity

Maintain and update our Tractivity system to ensure it is kept up to date, and compliant with GDPR standards.Develop invitee lists, send invitations, and track attendance and replies.Develop and implement a strategic plan to ensure that Tractivity is fully embedded and utilised across SGN.

Independent Stakeholder Group (ISG)

Act as the secretariat for the ISG, managing the organisation and delivery of meetings.Manage ongoing communications and coordinate diaries between ISG members and internal colleagues.Collate pre-read material from colleagues and circulate to group members in advance of meetings.Take comprehensive meeting notes, record actions, and ensure they are circulated and tracked effectively.

What you’ll need

Essential Skills & Experience

At least 5 years’ experience organising and managing online, hybrid and in-person stakeholder events.A proven track record in project, event and meeting management.Experience in booking and managing venues and audio-visual suppliers.Proficiency with online meeting platforms such as MS Teams and Zoom (including breakout room management).Strong written communication skills, including preparing comprehensive meeting records and actionable summaries for senior stakeholders.Excellent influencing skills to ensure timely contributions from internal stakeholders.Proficiency in MS Office applications, especially PowerPoint.Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.A collaborative team player with strong networking and relationship-building skills.

Desirable Skills & Experience

Experience using Stakeholder Relationship Management (SRM) or Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tools like Tractivity.Experience in the utilities / regulated industries/ infrastructure sector.
