Key Responsibilities

Barn and Stall Maintenance:

Clean and maintain assigned stalls, barns, aisles, wash racks, and adjacent areas dailyRake, sweep, and maintain the appearance and functionality of all walkways and working surfacesRemove manure, soiled bedding, and debris promptly and thoroughlyMonitor stall conditions and report any damage, repair needs, or unusual conditions to the Director of Operations

Facility Presentation & Upkeep:

Ensure the overall appearance of assigned barn areas is clean, organized, and visitor-ready at all timesRegularly inspect and tidy shared areas including turnouts, crossties, and tack storage zonesAssist with pest control support by eliminating trash, old bedding, or other unsanitary buildupParticipate in deep-cleaning rotations and power washing efforts as needed

Horse Welfare & Safety Awareness:

Observe horse behavior and report signs of distress, illness, or injury immediately to the Director of OperationsFollow safety protocols when working around or near horsesReport any unsafe conditions or hazards related to facility infrastructure, barn equipment, or animal behavior

Inventory & Supply Support:

Assist in the distribution of shavings, alfalfa, and other barn suppliesMonitor inventory levels in designated storage areas and notify the Stabling Manager when restocking is neededHelp ensure tools and supplies are stored properly and in good working order

Teamwork & Communication:

Work collaboratively with other crew members to ensure daily responsibilities are completed efficientlyCommunicate regularly with the Director of Operations regarding progress, concerns, or boarder needsProvide professional and courteous support to boarders, trainers, and visitors when interacting in shared spaces

Qualifications

Required:

Previous experience in barn or equine facility maintenance preferredAbility to work safely around horses and follow barn safety protocolsAttention to detail and pride in maintaining a clean, functional, and professional environmentPhysical ability to perform heavy labor in outdoor conditions year-roundAbility to lift up to 75 pounds and work on your feet for extended periodsStrong communication skills and a willingness to take direction and work independently or in a team settingReliable, punctual, and accountable with a positive attitude

Preferred:

Valid driver's licenseFamiliarity with barn tools and equipment, including wheelbarrows, shovels, rakes, golf carts, tractors, etc.Bilingual (Spanish/English) a plus
