Standardized Patient Lead
Job Summary

The Standardized Patient simulates, in a consistent, disciplined, standardized manner, a patient in a medical situation for purposes of medical resident training. The Standardized Patient is a per diem position with no set schedule for standardized patient training sessions or programs. The Lead Standardized Patient is required to have a set, limited schedule.

Job Duties Responsible to learn a case, based on a real patient other than themselves.Interviewed and examined by learners as though they were that person in the doctor's office, clinic, or emergency department, giving that patient's history, and simulating their physical signs, such as pain or difficulty waking.No invasive examinations are performed; no medications are given; no sharps are used.Some disrobing may be required.Fulfills the duties of a Standardized Patient but will also be responsible for reviewing and editing cases, functioning in a lead role at standardized patient training sessions and programs.Assist in developing and leading quarterly retreats.


Work is typically performed in an office environment. Accountable for satisfying all job specific obligations and complying with all organization policies and procedures.
