Job Summary:
The Material Handler is responsible for efficiently handling, storing, and distributing materials and products within the warehouse. This role involves operating equipment, maintaining inventory accuracy, and ensuring a safe working environment.
+ Manage and oversee the receipt of incoming stock from suppliers, ensuring accurate accounting and proper placement in designated areas.
+ Maintain detailed records of received merchandise and items distributed or stored for future use.
+ Prepare and submit comprehensive reports on daily activities, utilizing strong mathematical skills and proficiency in computer systems.
+ Ensure continuous flow of materials to production lines, anticipating needs and preventing shortages.
+ Communicate effectively with Supervisors and Team Leaders via radio, maintaining a professional demeanor while requesting products for production lines.
+ Operate standup forklifts safely and efficiently to transport materials within the facility.
+ Conduct regular inventory checks to maintain accurate stock levels and identify discrepancies.
+ Implement and follow proper safety procedures when handling materials and operating equipment.
+ Collaborate with the production team to optimize material flow and minimize downtime.
+ Assist in organizing and maintaining a clean and orderly warehouse environment.
+ Participate in cycle counts and annual inventory audits as required.
+ Identify and report any damaged or defective materials to appropriate personnel.
+ Stay updated on inventory management best practices and suggest improvements to enhance efficiency.
+ Must have experience driving a standup forklift.
+ High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
+ Relevant experience within the last 5 years.
+ Valid forklift certification required.
+ Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds regularly.
+ Excellent organizational and time management skills. Ability to be self-motivated, and work with little supervision. Able to stay focused and complete assigned tasks.
+ Strong attention to detail and accuracy in inventory management.
+ Proficiency in using warehouse management systems and basic computer skills.
+ Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
+ Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
+ Basic math skills for inventory calculations and reporting.
+ Familiarity with safety regulations and OSHA standards.
+ Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.
