Job Description
The Forklift Operator is responsible for a variety of warehouse duties which includes but is not limited to bringing pallets of raw materials to the packaging lines, removing finished product pallets from the packaging lines, counting and putting away raw materials, filling customer orders, loading and unloading trucks, and keeping the warehouse organized in a manner that meets company standards for safety, security and productivity.
Job Duties
• Ensure that all finished goods are put away and scanned into the proper bin location
• Follow production schedule and pull raw materials accordingly
• Pick all raw materials on a FIFO basis
• Count, label, and put away raw materials
• Execute the cycle counting program
• Maintain inventory areas for proper storage and FIFO rotation
• Perform computer related tasks in the warehouse management system
• Prepare bills of lading; check items to be shipped against work orders to ascertain that quantities, destination, and routing are correct
• Receive and unload incoming materials and compare information on packing slip with purchase order to verify accuracy of shipment
• Inspect shipments for damages or defects; record discrepancies or damage, and notify Supervisor
• Operate counterbalance and/or reach forklift for loading and unloading of product and moving product to and from the production line.
• Follow established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives, continuous quality improvement objectives, and safety standards
Requirements
• High school, GED or equivalent
• Regular and predictable attendance required
• Required to work standard 8 hour shifts
• Flexibility to work overtime as needed
• Ability to operate a stand up and sit down forklift
• Ability to use computer tablet
• Ability to use a hand held scanner
• Ability to perform mathematical calculations
• Ability to operate in a fast paced production environment
• Effectively work as part of a team
• Attention to detail
• Able to stand for an 8 hour shift
• Able to lift 50 pounds on an occasional basis
• Ability to operate a forklift
