Within TSG, the State Local Tax team helps clients compete and succeed by staying up-to-date on the ever-changing, complex state and local tax rules. These business advisors specialize in solutions that span income tax, indirect tax, property tax, and tax controversy matters. Responsibilities:
Assist with management of clients and their needs
Assist with state and local tax consulting projects related to tax planning, due diligence, nexus and taxability studies, apportionment and revenue sourcing, voluntary disclosures, audit defense, credits and incentives, and various other multistate projects
Perform research and technical analysis of multistate income / franchise, sales, use, gross receipts and other state or local tax issues
Analyze taxpayer data and be able to identify opportunities for prospects and clients
Keep up to date on state and local tax law changes
Participate in business development activities as needed
Develop internal relationships within the firm and help grow external branding
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree required; emphasis in accounting preferredAdvanced degree such as Masters of Tax or JD and/or LLM is a plusCPA or licensed attorney preferred. If not a CPA or licensed attorney, must meet educational requirements to obtain CPA or attorney license in state of employment upon hireMust be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis upon hire.
