State Filing Analyst

In the role of State Filings Analyst, you will analyze each state’s competitive landscape and regulatory requirements and participate in planning for state specific filing strategies. You will track state policy form and rate regulations, bureau filing changes, and communication with business partners to implement procedural changes across the organization. Construct and manage the filing submissions within the applicable filing tools (SERFF or iFile) ensuring company’s compliance with state requirements.  Lead filing process ensuring all internal stakeholders understand current filing statuses and challenges.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

 

Build and manage policy form and rate filings for each state in SERFF or iFile, including preparation of all necessary transmittals, checklists and certifications for each state filing Work closely with other departments (underwriting, pricing, product) to monitor and communicate filing methods and procedures to ensure rate and form filings adhere to state and regulatory requirements. Active participation in conducting regulatory research and actively reviewing/monitoring new regulations within each state, identifying impacts to the organization and communicating plans and requirements to internal teams.  Facilitate process for responding to state objections in a timely fashion; Including directly responding to objections that do not require input from other functions. Oversee needs for extensions, resubmissions, withdrawals with considerations of individual states’ restrictions and deadlines while balancing business needs and expectations. Coordinate and document all activities surrounding the filing, status updates, approval, disapproval of all filings with state insurance departments. Ensure all filings are documented and communicated to internal stakeholders including Program Management Utilize internal tools and technology to enhance reporting and tracking of regulatory requirements, filing statuses, and objection experience from previous filings.

 

 

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

 

Bachelor’s degree in business, Insurance or related field or equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant experience. Three (3) to five (5) years prior experience working in a professional office environment. Experience with reviewing, researching, and interpreting regulatory documents. Knowledge in compliance, claims, or underwriting in the insurance or other regulated industry required. Strong written and verbal communication skills required. High level of organizational skills and attention to detail Process improvement and project management experience. Technology savvy with general systems and software applications proficiency to include MS Word and MS Excel
