The reporter will sift through state legislative proposals to find the policies that impact Ohioans most; produce watchdog journalism on the future of voting, Democracy and ballot access in Ohio; and become our team's expert on topics readers crave, marijuana and abortion. This position has a daily reporting responsibility that requires the ability and flexibility to juggle multiple stories at once, including the dailies and enterprise pieces we treasure. Ohio's fingerprints are on almost every major political story. One of Ohio's U.S. senators is the Republican candidate for vice president, and the other is running in the most closely watched Senate election in the country. A redistricting reform measure on the November ballot could chart a new course for democracy in the state. And Ohio's Statehouse regularly produces news stories that see national spotlight. This position in based in Columbus, OH.
