What we want
The Financial Accountant I is responsible for state and local income tax reporting for shared service members.
What you need to know
Salary: $48,000 annually

Other Factors: Ability to work outside of normal business hours such as evenings and weekends as needed.
Required Education and Experience:
+ Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
+ No experience required.
Required Special Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
+ Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet software.
+ Excellent oral and written communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills in an increasingly
+ complex environment.
+ Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
+ Ability to work independently when necessary.
+ Ability to analyze activities and recommend process/internal control improvements.
+ Ability to provide outstanding customer service.
+ Ability to comprehend and apply rules and regulations and analyze and improve internal controls.
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business.
+ Experience in higher education and tax compliance
Essential Duties/Tasks:
+ State and Local Income tax reporting - Ensures compliance with State/Local tax regulations for shared service members. Submit State and Local withholding payments, return filings, and annual reconciliations. Ensure follow-through on all adjustments to ensure filings and payments are corrected. Performs audits on pay records for state/local income tax to ensure proper tax deductions are made and makes corrections to the employees pay as needed.
+ SSN Solicitations - Compile and submit SSN Solicitations to employees who have a missing SSN in Workday.
+ Customer Service - Responds to customer’s questions concerning State/Local tax inquiries and SSN Solicitation inquiries.
+ Teamwork - Provides assistance to Tax Compliance and reporting staff based on need, reconciliations, and other special projects.
