About the Role: This advanced-level position in the Cash Management section of the Office of State Depository Control, Louisiana Department of Treasury, is responsible for performing professional accounting, auditing, research, and analysis related to the State’s $7.5 billion investment portfolio. The incumbent ensures compliance with constitutional and statutory regulations, audits securities transactions, and monitors the State’s cash position and borrowable resources. This role requires expertise in accounting principles, state fiscal policies, U.S. government investment instruments, and banking operations. Work is performed with a high degree of independence, requiring strong analytical and decision-making skills. Key Responsibilities: + Track and record investment activity, including certificates of deposit and other financial instruments. + Audit settlements of state investment transactions in securities and bank notes. + Monitor daily cash positions and assess fund availability for state expenditures. + Audit reimbursement requests from local governments for disaster-related expenditures. + Generate financial reports and reconcile investment balances with bank records. + Communicate with financial institutions and state officials to resolve investment and banking issues. + Provide guidance to less experienced analysts and participate in special treasury projects.
