As a Station Broadcast Engineer you'll be responsible for the day-to-day technical operations and administration of the station. Duties include monitoring, controlling, and reporting on the operability of the station's central cast rack and transmitter operations. You'll work closely with the broadcast team to maintain the studio, transmitter, and distribution delivery equipment.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
Monitor, control and report to the operability of station’s central cast rack and transmitter operations
Monitor and report station outages
Work with team in daily operation of studio, transmitter, and distribution delivery
Troubleshoot television transmitter and facility issues
Maintain systems responsible for supporting the on-air operation, such as HVAC, networking, electrical, and mechanical
Partner with legal and corporate in the maintenance of the station public file in accordance with FCC requirements. Track and confirm FCC online station files
24/7 on-call availability to ensure continuous operation of the station
Liaise with all cable, DBS, and Telco operators within market
Operate, log and maintain EAS tests and equipment
Proactively engage with necessary third parties to resolve technical issues in an expedited manner as they arise;
Carry out troubleshooting as needed or escalate to engineering support for further diagnosis
May be responsible for certain administrative duties related to business and operation transactions
Adhere to company policies and procedures including corporate guidelines and best practices
Other duties as assigned
WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
Associates degree in Engineering (Electrical or Electronic) or a related field preferred or equivalent vocation/technical experience
5-7 years of experience in broadcast engineering preferred
WHAT YOU'LL BRING:
Comfort and willingness to learn, implement, and operate new technology related to broadcasting and content delivery
Strong proficiency with computers to include Microsoft Office Suite
Excellent verbal and written communications skills
Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and meet deadlines
Ability and willingness to travel to transmitter sites and travel throughout the region on an as needed basis
ADDITIONAL CONSIDERATIONS:
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
Valid driver's license, good driving record, and ability to provide proof of insurance with the company required insurance limits.
