Position Overview:

This is a journey level position that is independently responsible for the maintenance and repairs to the building and grounds, related fixed portable equipment and installation. Performance of different tasks which include general maintenance and repair, plant operation and maintenance and preventive maintenance.

EDUCATION:Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma.HS Diploma or equivalent education/experience

CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE:

EPA universal CFC certification within 90 days

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE AS TYPICALLY ACQUIRED IN:

Mechanical Electrical Technology (MET) 2-year certificate or equivalent technical experience2 years experience working with equipment repair and troubleshooting and diagnosing a wide variety of mechanical equipment and machinery problems.2 years experience with building systems and equipment and capable of building a maintenance program in accordance with all healthcare regulatory standards and all other applicable State/Federal/Local regulatory requirements.Healthcare experience acquired in a similar environment.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

Computer skills and building automation systems experience requiredAccuracy, attention to detail, ability to organize/ prioritize workEmployee must be able to read, write, and speak the English LanguageAdvanced knowledge of electrical theory and procedures for repairing and maintaining the systemAdvanced knowledge of air-conditioning, refrigeration and heating control systems, including air balance and system calibration procedures for repair and maintenanceAdvanced knowledge of commercial plumbing systems and procedures for repair and maintenanceAdvanced knowledge of procedures, materials and tools used in commercial building remodels and cabinet constructionAdvanced knowledge of uniform electrical and building codesConsiderable knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions of the building and mechanical tradesThrough knowledge of the tools, equipment and materials used in the building tradesAbility to work well with othersAbility to inspect systems and buildings to detect existing or potential problemsAbility to read and understand blueprintsAbility to analyze situations and develop an effective course of actionAbility to perform arithmetic calculations as required by the jobAbility to maintain records and prepare reportsContinuing Education, keeps skill set current in the Facilities Maintenance by participating is self-study programs, and training made available by recognized groups in the trade such as Center for Studies in Higher Education (CSHE), ASHE, International Facility Management Association (IFMA), & Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA).

Pay Range is $57.89 to $63.67 / hour

The salary range for this role may vary above or below the posted range as determined by location. This range has not been adjusted for any specific geographic differential applicable by area where the position may be filled. Compensation takes into account several factors including but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure and certifications, department equity, training and organizational needs.
