We are seeking a data analyst who will work with research faculty within the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. This position is a 2-year appointment. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to work independently and efficiently. They must understand both database and research complexities, and apply problem-solving techniques utilizing existing and emerging scientific knowledge.

Responsibilities*This position involves a wide range of tasks including data management, programming and statistical analysis using both existing data and newly-collected data. This position will also be expected to provide statistical training to collaborators. Specifically, the position includes the following responsibilities:
Data management and analytics
Write, test and implement statistical programs using SAS software to clean, manage, merge and analyze complex data setsImplement methods to ensure data qualityPrepare and maintain technical documentation of data and analysis filesParticipate as a team member in discussions on analysis and improvement of data collection, quality of data analyses, programming and documentationDevelop and draft project specific analysis plansIndependently conduct appropriate data analysesAssist in the writing of manuscripts and grant proposalsWork with collaborators to define scientific questions, formulate models and methods, and apply appropriate statistical methods and advise on presentation of resultsData Collection Support
Collaborate with data coordinators to ensure data quality entry in clinical record formsAssist data coordinators on data collectionImplement data quality documentation for data collectionProject Management

Background ScreeningMichigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third party administrator to conduct background screenings.
