Job Description:
The Statutory Accounting Manager will lead a team that is responsible for statutory accounting and reporting, as well as regulatory financial requirements in the whole region and will be directly responsible for some of the assigned legal entities. Also, the Statutory team is accountable for the compliance and implementation of internal control policies and procedures. The position is based in Prague and reports to a Regional Accounting Director.
Ensure the end-to-end activities in the Record-to-Report processes are performed in line with local statutory requirements (for the respective European countries), reflect the corporate internal policies.
Oversight and review that statutory accounts are following local legislation and requirements, in line with timelines.
Assure the company's annual statement, other supplemental annual statements and exhibits are filed in line with local requirements.
Review statutory accounts reconciliations, review GAAP adjustments and GAAP bridges.
Review and manage the process of statutory deliverables and filings as well as any other local government requirements.
Oversight the relationship and manage the scope of work and quality with local advisors and consultants on preparation and filing of statutory documents.
Consolidate and manage the professional contractors, vendors relationship and service delivery.
Liaise and build rapport with local authorities (oversee audits, new legislation requirements, ad-hoc requests).
Assure ongoing compliance, reflect on legislation changes and requirement to maintain statutory reporting compliant and accurate. Propose and implement timely required accounting processes, changes and controls.
Ensure performance of internal controls, including local compliance.
Ensure all internal policies and procedures are consistently followed.
Responsible that accounting documentation (Guidelines, Manuals) are complete and up-to-date
Proactively research and document conclusions on accounting and compliance issues with appropriate references to relevant GAAP, internal and external accounting policies.
Oversight and coordinate audits (internal & external), provide hands-on support related to complex topics.
Key liaison with the various functions of the respective company’s reporting and accounting matters or related.
Motivate, mentor, develop, and manage Statutory Accounting team members to ensure Statutory Accounting Team satisfaction and attrition remain within objectives set by Finance Leadership team
Drive a culture of continuous improvement within the Accounting Team.

Job Requirements:
Experience:
10+ years’ experience, minimum 5 years statutory reporting experience, experience in a multinational corporation or global accounting firm, Big 4 preferred.
Master the statutory financial reporting process incl. financial reports, tax returns and local declarations.
Strong interpersonal skills with a proven record of successful leadership and management experience of at least 5 years
Skills/technical know-how:
Excellent technical financial skills. Ability to understand the balance sheet & income statement impacts of every transaction and to challenge or propose material accounting judgment entries, when relevant
Strong knowledge of finance and accounting principles and processes
Record to Report knowledge and experience
Strong knowledge of local statutory requirements and local reporting of some of major European countries.
SAP R3, Oracle, HFM knowledge is a plus.
US-GAAP and SOX experience is an advantage.
Other Competencies:
Higher degree in business administration or equivalent finance specific degree, CPA/ACCA or local equivalent
Excellent oral and written communication skills in English is required. Communication skills in other major European languages is a plus.
Demonstrate sound work ethic, respect and cultural sensitivity and awareness.
Effective time management, organizational and prioritization skills.
