Work Arrangement: This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to the office three times per week or other frequency dictated by the business.
The Role
This role has the responsibility to operationally run the Statutory Center of Excellence (CoE) based in Global Business Solutions-Manila (GBS-Manila). The Stat COE team’s responsibilities include but not limited to managing local accounting and statutory reporting activities, overseeing external audit, and preparing financial statements and disclosures based on applicable accounting standards.
What You’ll Do
Operationally lead and provide technical support to Analyst and Junior AnalystFinancial Statement Preparation and Local Statutory ReportingStatutory Account ReconciliationAnnual closing as per Statutory booksPerform critical tasksReview GAAP to Stat Journal entries, local account reconciliations, and submission of Trial BalanceReview of local Financial Statements and Disclosures, Statement of Management Responsibilities, and Financial Statement analytics (US to local GAAP; YoY) for completion and accuracyEnsure compliance with GM Corporate policies and external regulatory requirementsProvide technical support for internal and external auditsMaintain relationships with other engagement teams (External Audit Team - E&Y, Internal Controls, GBS/GM Controllership) and monitor teams’ progress against plan and drive performance as required. Identify potential issues and drive resolution (accounting or control related)Lead Process Improvement to drive efficiency and qualitySupport and execute CPR projects covering Statutory record to report activitiesThis position directly reports to the Accounting and Finance Manager.

Certified Public Accountant6+ years of financial statement audit experience at a public accounting firm and/or end-to-end statutory financial statements experience (from audit planning with external auditors until signing of financials) at a private firmDemonstrates extensive knowledge in International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles in the United States (U.S. GAAP), emphasizing an in-depth, extensive understanding of the applicable business and accounting issues, and technical accounting and financial reporting standards. – Additionally, continue to attend training on these topics to remain adequately informed and knowledgeableMinimum of 3 years supervisory or project management experienceExperience in Thomson Reuters ONESOURCE Accounting software is a plusAdvance knowledge in International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles in the United States (U.S. GAAP), emphasizing an in-depth understanding of the applicable business and accounting issues, and technical accounting and financial reporting standards. – Additionally, continue to attend training on these topics to remain adequately informed and knowledgeableWorking knowledge of SAP and other GM systems as required for the assigned position (systems and level of knowledge necessary will vary – employee must be willing to continually learn the GM systems landscape and functionality)What Will Give You A Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)
