STEM IT - Strategic Procurement Manager

We are looking for an experienced Strategic Procurement Manager to help us shaping the future. Based in Milan, within the Purchasing area of the Projects Business Unit, reporting directly to the Cost and Materials Director

The candidate will have the following responsibilities:

> Be part of bidding process with the responsibility of providing the correct raw material costs during tender phase

- participate to tender kick of meetings and organize necessary further alignment with relevant functions to understand the project details and possible implication on raw material sourcing (e.g. local content, price indexation, sustainability, preliminary vs final offer…)

- be in close contact with Corporate Procurement to understand market trends and expected prices for relevant materials, plus discussing specific topics coming from ongoing tenders

- define the correct cost for each raw material in the specific tender

> Be responsible for identifying and monitoring the upcoming volumes for the main raw materials. On short term to timely address urgent constraints, on medium and long term to ensure material availability, competitiveness and work preventively in case of need:

- be in close contact with BU planning function to understand evolution of short, medium and long term planning and identify implications on raw materials and suppliers

- be in close contact with Corporate Procurement to address specific topics coming from volume analysis

- support budgeting process and specific analysis with the collection of future volumes for the main raw materials

>Lead projects on materials and suppliers topics with the objective of preparing the BU for future opportunities (introduction of new materials or suppliers, removal of single source, supplier sustainability, …)

- create working plan and follow it up making sure that targets and responsibilities are clear and timing is defined

- coordinate the activities of different functions contributing to the project such as Quality, R&D, Corporate Procurement, productions plants, System Engineering,…

- proactively propose solution and escalate decisions to be taken at the right level

MUST HAVE

We are looking for a Strategic Procurement Manager with the following skills:

>Business or Engineering background

>Previous experience > 5 years
>Solid professional experience as Buyer/Commodity Manager in a structured international organization

>Knowledge of technical fundamentals related to materials (mechanical, chemical, electrical)

>Experience in leading projects, coordinating different functions (e.g. Quality, R&D, plants,…)

>Familiarity with complex organizational context and excellent in stakeholder management

>Proactive, curious, results driven and committed to manage complexity and challenges
>Excellent team building abilities

>Fluent in English

>Willingness to travel (max 20%)

NICE TO HAVE

>Past experience as Buyer/Commodity Manager in energy sector
