2-10 Job Summary The STEPS PATH Coordinator reports directly to the Visual Impairment Program Faculty Chair. Responsibilities include planning and assisting with overseeing two weekend and a one week summer retreat for teens who are blind and visually impaired. Candidates must be able to design and collect student applications, setup hotel/dorm lodging, and coordinate activities and meals. Experience with children and/or blindness and visual impairment preferred.

This is a very flexible job, with minimal work some weeks, and more the closer to retreat dates. It does require availably during the daytime and an occasional meeting in the evening. Candidate can complete most work from home and needs to have a computer with webcam, microphone, and access to the internet.

Skills / Knowledge / Abilities Candidate needs to be self-motivated and have strong computer skills using Microsoft and Google. Must have good communication skills when working with other PATH staff, as well as with students and their parents/guardians. The ability to drive/transport students in a minivan or 15-passenger van is preferred (vans provided by program). Candidate needs to be able to attend the fall and spring weekend retreat (location varies within Kentucky), as well as the week-long program in July at the University of Kentucky in Lexington. Lodging and meals are provided during the program. Does this position have supervisory responsibilities?
