LOCATION: Lancaster General Hospital in Lancaster, PA
SCHEDULE: Full time (40 hours per week/1.0 FTE). Hours are between 3pm-1130pm with weekend and holiday rotation.
POSITION SUMMARY:
+ Position Summary: Assist in the oversight of the Sterile Processing Department and reporting directly to the Supervisor of Sterile Processing. Must maintain a consistent high standard of sterile processing practice, and assure that the department will meet or exceed the Joint Commission requirements. The Sterile Processing Technician carries out the safe collection of used medical equipment and instrumentation followed by decontamination, sterilization, assembling and testing as required. The Sterile Processing Technician is responsible for documentation, maintenance and distribution of medical supplies. Accountabilities • Asist the Supervisor with oversight of the the Sterile Processing staff. • Provide updates and reports to Supervisor in a timely manner. • Organizes and coordinates the daily services of the departments. Sets appropriate priorities, uses time effectively. • Recommends, implements and enforces departmental policies and procedures that guide and support the provisions of services. • Oversees and ensures quality improvement audits are completed. • Assists the Supervisor with financial accountability. Provides input on cost savings and productivity enhancements. • Communicates regularly with staff regarding needed areas of improvement. Is open to suggestions and new ideas from staff. Diploma GED And 3+ years Central Supply Technician preferred. X Other Completion of a sterilization processing course Licenses, Registrations, and Certifications Req Pref Licenses Registrations Certifications Licenses Registrations Certifications Drop Down X CRCST Certified Registered Central Service Technician certification through IAHCSMM is preferred at hire; required after one year. JOB REQUIREMENTS
MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
+ High School diploma or GED equivalent required.
+ Basic computer skills.
+ CRCST Certified Registered Central Service Technician certification through IAHCSMM is preferred at hire; required after one year

+ 3+ years Central Supply Technician
