Get to Know Your Team: UT Health Tyler, the flagship hospital of the system, has 502 licensed beds specializing in advanced acute care medicine. Our hospital includes a 24-hour ER with Level 1 trauma center, a comprehensive stroke center, more than 500 physicians and a full complement of subspecialty groups. Responsibilities Assists manager with oversight of daily operations of the Central Sterile Department. Assists manager with oversight for all reprocessing activities of instrumentation, supplies and equipment used for patient care. Ensures staff follows established procedures regarding receipt, collection and transportation of all contaminated instruments and supplies. Ensures operation and cleanliness of all department equipment. Other duties may be assigned. Qualifications Job Requirements: High School graduate or equivalent Requires extensive knowledge of practices regarding Decontamination, Sterilization, and Instrument Storage. Requires knowledge of surgical procedures, medical terminology, infection control practices and standards, as well as anatomy. Requires knowledge of State and Federal regulations and Professional Recommended Practices. Preferred Job Requirements: National Certification strongly preferred
