Job Title: Surgical Services – Sterile Processing Technician

Job Summary:

Under the direction of the Clinical Manager of SPD, functions as a member of the team, decontaminates, assembles and sterilizes instruments and instrument trays. Receives and collects incoming supplies and instruments according to policy and procedures. Completes request to dispense equipment and supplies. Works independently with little supervision.

Job Description:

Creates and maintains a sterile fieldCompetent to operate and maintain equipment such as:steam sterilizersAutomatic WashersAutomatic 3 bay sink and sonic.Performs routine BI (with every load) for steam and Sterrad.Knows the parameters and cycles of each piece of equipment and can trouble shoot the equipment within SPD and reports malfunctioning equipment to SPD manager.Tracks supplies that need to be ordered and replenishes supplies in the department daily

Requirements:

High School diploma or equivalent. Experience preferred, but not required.ISHCSMM certification preferred within 18 months of hire datePrior experience in SPD preferred, but not required
