The Opportunity

This position works out of our Arecibo location in the CRM division and support the following shift: Alternating weeks, the first week you work Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, the second week you work Monday, Tuesday, Saturday, and Sunday. In both weeks, the schedule is 6 PM to 6 AM.

As the Sterilization Operator, you will be responsible for processing lots of products thru sterilizer and for documenting and monitoring all phases of the sterilization cycles following all Abbott procedures.

What You’ll Do

Process lots of products thru sterilizer and for documenting and monitoring all phases of the sterilization cycles following all Abbott procedures. 

Performs quality inspections during all steps of the sterilization process. 

Maintain operations records corresponding to product/process.

Maintain and generated trending reports for EO emissions for the Junta de Calidad Ambiental

Maintain and generated LPG consumption reports

Under supervision perform preventive maintenance to sterilization equipment

Boilers parameter checklist completion on a daily basis

EO Cylinders replacement

Support for equipment troubleshooting

Maintains clean and orderly work area and follows all applicable safety measures. 

Notifies management of violation or deviations to manufacturing and safety procedures and guidelines immediately when recognized.

Ensure compliance with all Abbott procedures and all applicable regulatory agency requirements.                                                                                                                    

Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Technical Diploma: in Electronics, electronics and or mechanics preferred and/ or equivalent degree or experience.

Previous experience in a regulated industry (medical device, electronics or pharmaceutical).

Previous experience in Sterilization and/or working on a hazardous environment / process, preferred.

Capacities to calculate, coordinate, detect, evaluate, inspect and collect data.

Ability to operate and assist in emergency situations while using SCBA and personal protective equipment.

Must have good interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work in teams, and follow detailed work instructions

Ability to understand written English is preferred.

Experience and knowledge in ethylene oxide gas and sterilization equipment and processes.

Computer skills in Word, Power Point, Excel, Outlook and INFOR

Ability to operate and assist in emergency situations while using SCBA and personal protective equipment

The base pay for this position is $11.50 – $17.14 per hour. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
