Sterilization Technician

Overview
A Sterilization Technician at Touro College of Dental Medicine is responsible for maintaining a clean and safe environment in the dental clinic by cleaning, sterilizing, and disinfecting dental instruments and equipment. This position is also responsible for managing the inventory of sterilization supplies and ensure compliance with infection control protocols.
Responsibilities
+ Instrument Processing: Cleaning, sterilizing, and disinfecting dental instruments and equipment.
+ Infection Control: Ensuring all sterilization procedures adhere to established protocols to prevent the spread of infection.
+ Inventory Management: Maintaining an adequate supply of sterilization supplies and instruments.
+ Equipment Maintenance: Ensuring sterilization equipment is functioning properly and reporting any issues.
+ Maintaining a Clean Environment: Keeping the sterilization area clean and organized.
+ Following Protocols: Adhering to all relevant safety and infection control guidelines.
Qualifications
Certifications/Licensures
+ CPR Certification required.
+ Sterile Processing Certification: Certification such as CRCST or CSPD is a plus.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
+ General Administrative Duties.
+ Ability to solve complex problems and meet deadlines.
+ Accuracy and productivity in completing tasks.
+ Exceptional analytical, problem solving skills, collaboration and matrix management skills.
+ Demonstrated proficiency in communication (written and verbal).
+ Attention to Detail: Accuracy and precision are crucial in sterilization procedures.
+ Communication Skills: Effective communication with students, faculty, and other staff.
+ Organization and Time Management: Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
Working Conditions
+ Ability to lift 25 pounds,
+ Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
Maximum Salary
USD $62,521.00/Yr.
Minimum Salary
USD $50,016.00/Yr.
