Four Seasons Hotels and Residences New Orleans is seeking candidates to join our team as a Steward.
The Steward is an essential member of the Food & Beverage team dedicated to providing exceptional quality and service to our guests. The Stewarding team works tirelessly behind the scenes making sure that every piece of silver shines and every plate sparkles. Stewarding ensures that each outlet and function has an adequate supply of clean dishes and silverware and also keeps the kitchen and the “heart of house” clean and safe.
We are looking for individuals who possess a high level of attention to detail and a strong work ethic. The ability to multitask and prioritize is also essential for this position. Applicants must be comfortable around industrial size dish machines and have the ability to learn their operation. The Steward position is physical by nature and requires the applicant to be able to lift up to 50lbs. Repetitive motion and movements are essential functions of this position. The ability to safely utilize the proper cleaning and polishing solutions is also required. The Steward is in direct contact with the entire Stewarding and Kitchen team and strong communication skills are essential. This position requires an applicant with a flexible schedule and the ability to work all shifts, weekends and holidays.
What you will do:
Clean and sanitize china, glass, and silver using the dishwashing machine; load and unload dishware and flatware from dishwashing machine and store properly.
Clean and sanitize all ovens, steam kettles, mixers and other kitchen equipment as well as all kitchen drains, sinks, floors, and walls; clean, dust, seep, mop, polish, scrub, wash, strip, and buff kitchen and pastry shop production areas and hallways.
Clean and sanitize all pots, pans, and kitchen utensils using the correct cleaning and rinsing solutions.
Clean, polish, sort, and transport silver.
Complete any additional assigned tasks as directed by Stewarding or Hotel leadership.
What you bring:
Personal presentation and interpersonal skills.
Strong time management skills: ability to multi-task, set priorities, and adjust to changing conditions. Willing to work in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work closely with other departments and communicate clearly and effectively with colleagues and guests.
Ability to lift, carry, and move up to 100 lbs.
Have Work Authorization/Ability to work in the United States.
