**Steward** **Job Reference Number:** 27350 **Employment Type:** Full-Time **Segment:** Dining & Events **Brand:** Abigail-Kirsch **State:** New York (US-NY) We are looking for a skilled Steward to join our Abigail Kirsch team at the Tappan Hill Mansion in Tarrytown, NY. **Compensation is $16.50 an hour.** **Job Summary:** Responsible for the cleaning of the entire kitchen, basement, loading dock, stairway, associate restrooms and the polishing and cleaning of banquet equipment, and trays. Assists the Warewasher Supervisor in any extra cleaning duties. Maintain ware washing and pot and pan clean at all times as well as removal of all garbage. S/he must work closely with the lead ware washer in promoting the company’s culture, mission and philosophy. **Qualifications:** - Prior experience preferred - Ability to communicate effectively with associates, management, clients and vendors if necessary. - Able to work flexible schedule in order to accommodate business levels. **Essential Job Functions:** 1. Initial each work scheduled posted and report to work on time and ready to begin work duties. 2. Check with Ware Washer Supervisor and Chef when coming on duty for specific objectives for the day. 3. Ensure assigned workstation has the proper level of par stocks and supplies for the day's operation. 4. Responsible for the cleaning of total kitchen to include food service carts, walk-in coolers, freezers, the service elevator, basement, chef’s office, basement office, employee restrooms and loading dock 5. Ensure proper sanitation methods are used in all warewashing procedures and established standards of kitchen sanitation are maintained. 6. Perform the tasks required for warewashing soiled dishes from the restaurant and banquet through the use of the dish machine. 7. Perform the tasks required for washing pots, pans and other equipment which must be washed by hand. 8. Maintain the dish machine and inside parts clean (jets, arms, filters) to ensure satisfactory results of warewashing. 9. Perform routine daily maintenance of the kitchen according to daily list. 10. Clean and sanitize worktables, drain, clean and refill steam kettles, grease traps. 11. Clean and polish silver and cooper chafing dishes, trays, etc. Burnish all silver as necessary. 12. Sweep and mop the kitchen floor, basement and chef’s office to maintain sanitary environment for food preparation. 13. Remove all garbage, boxes, etc. from the main kitchen areas as necessary. 14. Plate hot banquet food as required. 15. Assist in Requisitions preparations. 16. Maintain food and beverage service equipment in an organized manner, sorting and storing silverware, dishes, etc. 17. Report any hazardous conditions or broken equipment to the Ware Washer Supervisor or Lead Warewasher. In emergency, notify the Ware Washer Supervisor. 18. Travel, as necessary, to different properties/venues. 19. Perform all reasonable requests by the Management team. 20. Attend and participate in all scheduled meetings and training sessions. 21. Follow proper time keeping policies and procedures 22. Follow the sign in and out procedure for keys. 23.
