Overview BASIC FUNCTION: The steward is the most integral role within a kitchen staff and will be treated as such. The steward will be responsible for overall cleanliness of the kitchen. Working mainly in the dish area while also being of assistant to the server’s assistants when needed. The steward will be responsible for cleaning/organizing all cookware, plates, glasses, and flatware. The steward will be willing to assist in whatever cleaning projects the Sous Chef/Lead Line cooks dem necessary within reason. Qualifications QUALIFICATIONS: Hard Worker Sense of Urgency Positive Attitude Ability to stand 6+ hours Organizational Skills No Experience Needed ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Ensure all kitchen floors are clear of debris at the beginning of shift. Take out trash frequently throughout shift. Wash/put away in an organized fashion all cookware, flatware, and plates throughout shift. Assist in the cleaning of all food storage areas. Willingness to learn fryer filtration system. Keep the dish area organized and clear of clutter. Assist in the closing of the kitchen, working closely with the line cooks. Mop and Sweep kitchen floors/coolers at the end of shift. Uphold a standard of cleaning and sanitation requirements.
