Who we are looking for

As a member of SSGA’s Asset Stewardship Team, the individual in this role will provide support to SSGA’s global asset stewardship activities and communication to clients. The Asset Stewardship Team is responsible for developing and implementing the firm’s proxy voting and engagement guidelines, managing issuer engagement, and undertaking research and analysis of governance and sustainability related issues.

This position is located in Krakow and will report to the Head of EMEA Asset Stewardship. 

This role requires significant cross-organizational teamwork to:

build relationships with key internal stakeholders: RFP teams, investment, operational, and client-facing teams to ensure understanding of client expectations/market developments manage and meet internal expectations around reporting and presenting on stewardship to clients help senior team members present our views on asset stewardship to clients.

Key responsibilities:

Work with senior members of the Asset Stewardship Team, investment, operational, and client reporting teams to manage client reporting process.Deliver high-quality responses on stewardship request for proposals (RFPs), due diligence questionnaires (DDQs) and effective slide decks to clients.Update and maintain stewardship content on our internal RFP database.Analyze and manage proxy voting and engagement data for client reporting purposes.Identify and implement process and content improvements.Collaborate with stewardship team to produce quarterly, annual and ad-hoc reporting on stewardship activities.Facilitate the publication of vote bulletins, case studies, and other thought leadership pieces.Support the EMEA Asset Stewardship Team with research and engagement preparation.Participate in virtual and in person meetings with clients.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

Undergraduate degree in economics, policy, finance or a sustainability-related field preferred and/or CFA designation would be beneficial3+ years of experience in client support work; exposure to proxy voting and company engagement preferredFamiliarity with investment, sustainability and governanceStrong written, verbal communications and presentation skillsStrong IT skills and comfortable with SQL coding and databases, including Excel, Tableau to interpret, reconcile and present and visualize dataStrong interpersonal skills with comfort working independently and within a team settingAbility to work in a dynamic environment, demonstrating initiative and the ability to prioritize workloads.Ability to navigate an increasingly complex environment and maintain focus on our core fiduciary responsibility
