Te kōwhiringa | The Opportunity

Downer’s Transport & Infrastructure business is at the forefront of maintaining road networks across the Trans-Tasman region. With a dynamic, integrated team, we’re tackling a range of projects that require bold solutions, innovative thinking, and the best people in the business – people like YOU.

As an STMS, you’ll play a key role in managing temporary traffic management systems, ensuring road closures and diversions are executed safely and efficiently. You’ll be leading the team with confidence, delivering briefings, and upskilling junior staff.  You will - 

Implement and oversee traffic management plans. Lead toolbox meetings and provide clear job expectations. Train and mentor junior STMS staff. Ensure the safety of the crew, subcontractors, and the public.

This is a permanent, Full Time position, based in Timaru. We offer a minimum of 40 work hours per week with penal rates available for overtime and weekends.

You will be a physically fit and motivated person and will bring with you. 

STMS warrant (A/B or Level 1/2) preferred. Strong commitment to safety and quality work. Adaptable and willing to take on outdoor challenges.
