JOB SUMMARY
All retail employees should be outgoing, upbeat, energetic, and reliable. The Retail Sales Stock Associate provides excellent customer service and actively promotes the selling of merchandise, operates a cash register, and handles all payment transactions for purchase. He or she ensures merchandise is received and transfers from the receiving dock, unpacked, and delivers merchandise to the sales floor. He or she employs selling techniques required for the position. The Retail Sales Stock Associate ensures that the selling areas are neat and clean and complies with visual standards. He or she ensures that the back stock is put away in the stockrooms.

Communicate all daily activities to the next shift on duty. Respond to pages in a timely manner. Partner with fellow associates to create a strong team. Promote the selling of merchandise and be able to up sell merchandise. Develop an excellent understanding of the product assortment in all the retail stores to help facilitate the customer decision-making process. Be knowledgeable about the products sold in the stores and alert the Manager to customer product needs so he or she may alert the buyers.Register Operations
Be knowledgeable on register operations. Handle all payment transactions for customer purchases. Ensure that all the necessary supplies are in place for completion of the next shift (register tape, bags, tissue, bubble wrap, scotch tape, etc.) Comply with all cash management policies and procedures. Report cash register malfunctions to the Supervisor on Duty Ensure money is not left unattended at any time.Stock Management
Receive the shipments in a timely manner Receive, unpack, and put away or transfer the daily deliveries of merchandise Receive in DC shipments and notify Supervisor on Duty if there are discrepancies Deliver and replenish beverages Receive orders of Pepsi, liquor, wine, and beer Receive requisitions from the loading dock Follow delivery schedule set forth by the Retail Manager Transport merchandise from the receiving dock to the store locations High volume retail stores require additional physical labor to stock coolers and transport stock from remote storage locations Ensure all the necessary supplies are delivered to the stores (bags, tissue, bubble wrap, etc.) Complete stock counts as requested Maintain and manage stock areas Inform the Supervisor on Duty if there are overstock items or out of stocks Complete on hand logs where applicable for the stock room areas Monitor alcohol and beer inventory and assist with ordering where applicable Assist in completing store to store transfersHousekeeping
Participate in store cleanliness by dusting and keeping all areas, including cash wrap, neat and uncluttered. Ensure that the cash wrap is well organized and free of all handwritten notes. Inform Supervisor on Duty if there are any maintenance concerns (lights, etc.) Confirm correct signs are in place on sale items or special purchases.Miscellaneous
Must have 6 months' previous cash handling experience. Work requires effective communication in English, both verbal and written form in a professional manner. Attend mandatory meetings and training sessions. Complete job assignments as directed by the Supervisor on Duty Assist with associate sales, inventories and special events as requested.Working Conditions:
Fast paced, high volume environment involving constant interaction with staff and the public. Shifts may vary based on business needs. Must be able to handle intoxicated guests in a professional manner. Must be able to tolerate secondary tobacco smoke.
