Location: Valhalla, NY Category: Staff Positions Posted On: Wed May 22 2024 Job Description: The Stock Clerk operates hand and power-driven equipment in picking up and conveying materials to storage or to platforms for storage and/or delivery. They will operate automotive equipment and make deliveries of forms, supplies, and equipment. The Stock Clerk also performs maintenance-related duties and moves stored items, including rotating items and ensuring the appropriate shelf life of items; breaks down bulk items into appropriate sizes for distribution; and uses computer applications or other automated systems such as spreadsheets, word processing, calendar, email and database software in performing work assignments. They may perform other incidental tasks, as needed. Job Requirements: REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: *This is a Civil Service position. The final candidate will be required to take and pass the Civil Service Exam when offered.* The successful candidate is required to possess: + A high school or equivalency diploma or trade school course and six months experience in handling supplies on a large scale, or in purchasing, ordering, receiving, storing or issuing equipment, materials or supplies is required. + Satisfactory completion of 30 credits at a recognized college, university or business school may be substituted for the required experience Possession of a valid New York State driver's license is required. The physical ability to lift and carry without assistance, loads up to 60 lbs. for short distances, and the ability to move heavier loads using manual and power equipment is required. Additional compensation with seniority steps maximize at a salary of $51,374.
