Responsibilities

Maintain stock inventory of millwork product categories as assigned by reviewing purchase assist reports, preparing purchase orders, and scheduling deliveries.  Work with heavy and low inventory reports to maintain proper inventory levels.  Maintain high levels of product knowledge and work with branch contacts and sales departments on any product changes, introductions and/or discontinuance.   Analyze, recommend, and develop systems and procedures to optimize inventory turnover and efficiencies.  Maintain high levels of communication with branch and sales contacts to answer product questions.  This may include visits to locations as warranted to maintain familiarity with their operations.  Discuss defective or unacceptable goods or services with branch personnel, vendors, and others to determine source of trouble and recommend and/or take corrective action.  Expedite delivery of goods to users.  Maintain procurement records such as items or services purchased, costs, delivery, product quality or performance, and inventories.  Analyze and make recommendations on vendor pallet and minimum order quantities.    Understand and run cyber query reports for existing product lines.  Review stock items for discontinuation.  Periodic travel to BROSCO plant locations to interact with Plant Managers, receiving, and shop supervisors to assess and review vendor product quality specifications to BROSCO needs is required. Create a summary report of the visit and forward findings to the Purchasing Manager and vendor when necessary.  Perform additional duties as required and be able to back up other members of the department as needed. 

Qualifications 

Basic Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or appropriate mix of education and relevant industry experience. Knowledge of DMSi AGILITY software including open stock purchase orders, inventory viewers, and master file maintenance. Strong Microsoft Office knowledge.

Other basic qualifications include: 

Ability to work independently.  Ability to read, analyze and interpret business related documents, procedures, and regulations.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, vendors, internal and external customers.  Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, and percentages.  Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.    Attention to detail.  Regular attendance and availability during scheduled working hours.
