Salary: This position traditionally starts at an annual salary of $39,000.00. Salary for this position may be commensurate with education and job experience. Location: This position is located in INDOT’s Indianapolis Area. A Day in the Life: The essential functions of this role are as follows: + Manages stockroom and unit inventories levels from $250,000 and up to support Shop and Sub-District operations- maintains perpetual inventory of supplies + Reviews inventory regularly to identify non-moving or non-existent parts to remove from inventory via returns to vendor, transfer to other stockrooms + Performs winter operations duties which includes winter operating hours in the stockroom to support Shop operations + Processes purchase orders, requisitions, and invoices for orders + Conducts annual inventory of parts for stockroom to verify part location and match to financial obligation with an <1% error rate + Issues parts to work orders to track cost of part on work orders and movement of inventory in the stockroom + Codes vendor invoices in INDOT paywise system to progress vendor payment and accurate tracking of costs + Orders parts and items for shop and Unit personnel utilizing proper INOT Procurement processes and INODT resources + Receives parts and items into inventory following INDOT SOPs to verify completeness and accuracy + Records and tracks all ordering, receiving, and issuing parts and handles all documentation + Reviews and verifies all vendor invoices to ensure proper payments + Works closely with shop personnel to establish proper parts availability, budget preparation, and inventory levels to support operation + Works with Central Office personal to establish new part #s and locations in the M5 system + Manages ordering of tire and recycling of tires following safety guidelines and requirements + Manages ordering of batteries and recycling of batteries following safety guidelines and requirements + Dispenses parts, materials, and supplies to shop personnel and District personnel for work orders and repairs and operations + Orders and maintains PPE supplies for personnel + Research vendors and parts options for shop personnel What You'll Need for Success: This person must have the following requirements to be considered for employment: + Working knowledge of applicable legislation, guidelines, agency policy and professional standards and practices + Ability to research and compile specific topics related to program area + Ability to communicate orally and in writing + Ability to operate effectively in a group decision-making process + Knowledge and experience of auto and heavy equipment parts + Technical knowledge in various computer systems + Ability to communicate and work with others professionally to provide great customer service + At least 1-year of experience in inventory control + At least 1-year experience in ordering and receiving parts + Knowledge of budget and procurement methods Supervisory Responsibilities/Direct Reports: This role may be utilized in a supervisory capacity based on agency needs.
