Storage Systems Architect

Storage Systems Architect is responsible for the daily, weekly, and monthly activities required to keep a client system running at peak performance, while focused on delivering on the architecture for SAN.  The Storage Systems Architecture is responsible for a variety of technical projects, to deliver on the storage arrays, switching, and keep the technology current.   Beyond running large scale projects for storage, the SAN architect is also a mentor and leader in the technology community to help engineers develop and grow in their abilities.  

The day-to-day activities may include:

Working with vendors to stay ahead of technology, plan, purchase, and implement SAN technologies Working with a team or independently to delivery on SAN related projects Working with engineers to mentor, train, or share knowledge on SAN and other technologies. Delivering SAN technologies that are fit for purpose in critical infrastructure environments. On-call support is a required part of this role. Ability to travel to sites for implementation of SAN Technologies and working with the team on the overall implementations.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience. Detailed knowledge of SAN fabric protocols, SAN routing and zoning configuration, Brocade Switches, HP and EMC storage systems, and various SAN management solutions.  Strong interpersonal skills 6-10 Years SAN support experience Experience supporting HP XP storage systems Knowledge of Brocade Switch Fabric Operating System Ability to work off-hours when required Ability to provide on-call support Ability to resolve issues before they become critical  Innovative, self-motivated, and able to interact with all levels of the organization Must currently reside or be able to relocate to the Australia Must be fully authorized to acquire a VISA to work within the Australia
