As the Store Clerk at one of our Alaskan facilities, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records, receiving and storing incoming supplies, and fulfilling orders for production and maintenance departments. This involves tasks such as verifying deliveries, organizing the warehouse, packing and shipping supplies, and assisting with physical inventories. The Store Clerk plays a crucial role in ensuring that the plant has adequate supplies to maintain efficient operations.
Essential Functions/Qualifications
The responsibilities of the position include the following:
Provide a friendly and welcoming atmosphere to assist customers in locating, selecting, and purchasing. Organize customer in-store pickup or deliveries. Physical arrangement of merchandise on shelves and displays. Assemble and Disassemble shelves to organize supplies. Intermediate Bookkeeping: check cash register receipts, prepare daily/weekly financial reports. Communicate with customers, management, and coworkers to problem-solve any issues. Aid management in keeping store organized, promoting quick and efficient sales, and maintaining a controlled inventory. Confident in mathematical skills to operate the cash register: debit & cash payment methods. Other duties are to ensure the facility and organization is fully supported and successful.Competencies

High school diploma or equivalent. 2+ years’ experience in seafood or related industry. Bookkeeping training or experience required. Able to navigate a variety of computer programs and software to help with inventory & bookkeeping. Proficient computer knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel & Word) programs and the ability to build reports and calculate figures.Work Environment and Schedule
The work environment for a Store Clerk in a seafood processing plant is typically a combination of indoor and outdoor settings. The indoor environment consists of the warehouse or storage area, which is often cold and damp due to the refrigeration systems used to preserve seafood products. The outdoor environment may involve loading and unloading trucks or inspecting incoming deliveries, which can expose the Store Clerk to various weather conditions. Position requires onsite presence at our Alaska Processing Facility, and the ability to travel, spending a significant amount of time during the season at our various locations and processing facilities in Alaska.
Physical Demands
While performing the essential function and job duties associated with the job, the employee is regularly required to sit, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
