Store Director

SUMMARY

The Store Director is responsible for overseeing the overall operations of a supermarket, ensuring efficient and profitable business performance. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership skills to manage day-to-day operations, enhance customer satisfaction, and drive store growth. The Store Director will lead a team of department managers and staff, ensuring that all store activities align with company policies, procedures, and objectives.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Oversee daily store operations, including inventory management, sales, and customer service.Develop and implement strategic plans to drive sales, increase profitability, and meet performance targets.Lead, mentor, and manage a team of department managers and store staff, fostering a positive work environment.Monitor and analyze sales performance, customer feedback, and market trends to identify opportunities for improvement.Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, food safety standards, and company policies.Manage store budgets, expenses, and financial reports, ensuring all financial targets are met.Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to ensure the availability of products, negotiate pricing, and manage stock levels.Handle customer complaints and issues in a professional and timely manner.Plan and execute promotional events and marketing initiatives to drive traffic and sales.Ensure store layout, merchandising, and product displays are aligned with company guidelines and optimize the customer shopping experience.Maintain a high standard of cleanliness, organization, and safety within the store.Maintains a safe work environmentFollows all store and department policies and proceduresIs a safety role modelOther duties as assigned by supervisor

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Manages subordinate supervisors who supervise Associates in the store. Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of this unit. Directly supervises non-supervisory associates. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.Training Associates; planning, assigning, and directing work.Appraising performance; rewarding and coaching Associates.Addressing complaints and resolving problems.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); One to three months related experience and/or training; Or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

 MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to work with Supermarket math concepts such as addition, subtraction, division, multiplication, percentages, distribution, penetration, gross profit, and Sales Per Associate Hour.
