The Position:

Summit Search Group has partnered with Swan Valley Coop on the recruitment of their next Store Manager in The Pas, Manitoba. Nestled in the Swan River Valley, this is your opportunity to live in one of the most beautiful areas of the province. Located between the Duck and Porcupine Mountains, their community is just a short drive away from provincial campgrounds, a ski hill and hiking/biking trails. Their town is home to an aquatic centre, modern gym facilities and offers a range of dining options.

What you’ll do:

Reporting to the Senior Manager, the Store Manager, will be responsible for the operation of the Home & building Solutions Store. This includes Human Resources, Asset Protection, Customer Service, Merchandising and Administrative Duties. This leadership position will utilize key skills to participate in the creation of relevant department goals, oversee sales, gross margin, expense control, and maintaining store standards.

Responsibilities:

Provide leadership and direction in the development and achievement of financial results and budget objectives. Oversee inventory control, expense and profits within established timelines and provide periodic inventory counts. Ensure standards of department presentation and operations are met, rotation, ordering, pricing accuracy, cleanliness, and sanitation. Act as a liaison and public relations representative within the community. Resolve issues as they arise including customer complaints and supply shortages. Participate in customer appreciation events and customer contact programs. Provide leadership in areas of employee relations, hiring, training, development, discipline, and recognition. Conduct regular performance management activities. Assist in identifying unhealthy/unsafe situations and ensure corrective action is taken. Follow procedures for accident and fire prevention, WHMIS, NSC and other safety procedures.

Qualifications:

Post-Secondary Education in a relevant field is considered an asset. 2+ years of previous Store leadership experience. Excellent time management and organizational skills; with the ability to lead and motivate a team.
