Lowe’s Summer Internship Program Overview
Lowe's 2025 Summer Internship Program offers a challenging, project-based opportunity for undergraduate and graduate students to enhance their understanding of the retail business world through valuable, hands-on experience with a FORTUNE® 50 company. The internship will provide broad learning, experience, organizational knowledge, and business acumen. We are looking for:

The summer internship program begins with orientation on May 27th and concludes on August 1st. All internships are paid opportunities. Qualified interns will be eligible for Lowe's housing benefit.
Store Operations Fire Safety Internship:
The Store Operations Safety team is a critical partner for all of Store Operations, they serve in a capacity to help ensure all Lowe’s Stores are clean and safe. To do this, the team combines a variety of different safety disciplines to evaluate possible risks from all angles to keep all Lowe’s Customers and Associates safe.
Interns working on this team will receive a rich experience on a dynamic team where they will have the opportunity to contribute directly to work that impacts all aspects of our business.
Potential Areas of Learning:
In support of the strategy for the safe storing & handling of high-hazard products, provide item commodity classification for existing and new products being offered by Lowe’s, identifying MAQs if applicable.
Provide subject matter expert assistance to the Asset Protection Department to ensure fire code requirements and Lowe’s standards are met by conducting fire safety evaluations, via fire plans, for Lowe’s supply chain nodes.
Develop an internal platform combining commodity classification, fire safety evaluations, and any limitation when it comes to storage within the Lowe’s supply chain network.
Provide support on hazardous items being shipped (Ground, Water, Air) to ensure all Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Department of Transportation (DOT), Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), and the International Maritime Organization (IMO) regulations are followed.
Education and/or Experience:
Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in occupational health and safety, safety engineering, environmental health and safety, fire safety engineering, fire administration or related fields from an accredited university with expected graduation dates of December 2025 or May 2026
Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA is required
Proficient in MS Office Programs (specifically Word, Excel, PowerBI and PowerPoint)
Strong collaborative, innovative, problem solving, organizational, and communication skills are required
Relevant internship and experience is a plus, as is experience in a leadership position at work or within a campus organization
