Position summary:
The storekeeper position controls and maintains all electric and gas material in their charge. They ensure material is on hand for planned jobs/maintenance by coordinating inventory requirements with the operation group, place and track requisitions/purchase orders, and communicate information and requirements as needed. Basically, they ensure that the right material is on hand at the right time, at the right price, and at the right location. The storekeeper assists operations in repairing, building and maintaining an integral distribution pipeline by ordering, receiving and issuing approved materials. The storekeeper maintains an inventory of material for work being done involving planning and communication with operations.
Pay Range:$26.18 - $31.93 Determined by the current Collective Bargaining Agreement
Reporting Relationship:Supervisor or Manager of Materials Management
Location: Grimes, Iowa
Essential Functions:
• Stores and distributes a wide variety of material, supplies and equipment maintaining records of all transactions in PeopleSoft.
• Unloads semi and small commercial trucks. Prepares outbound freight documentation.
• Stores and labels materials for stores issues, returns, transfers, etc.
• Verifies shipments against Purchase Orders and receiving reports, entering data into PeopleSoft.
• Coordinates with operations to ensure materials are in the right place at the right time. Determines level of inventory to be kept on hand. This is in participation and communication with operations.
• Prepares requisitions to order material and forwards to supervisor or other authorized persons for ordering.
• Conducts monthly cycle count of inventory and tracking accuracy of each count.
• Keeps warehouse areas clean and safe for all employees.
• Attend safety meetings and other employee training as assigned.
• Performs other duties, which are similar, related or incidental to this position and may work as directed, in other activities that require skills of a higher classification if qualified, as per Article 15 Section 3.
• Performs STORMS functions and activities.
What Is Required:
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Forklift Certification Forklift operator certification upon hire.
What Is Desired:
• Minimum of 2 years of warehouse experience or equivalent.
• Valid In-State Driver’s License
• Experience with PeopleSoft, Word, Excel.
• Knowledge of materials for distribution operations.
• Working knowledge of construction standards manual and company accounting procedures.
• Mainframe and personal computer skills, general math and inventory tracking skills.
• Ability to operate a forklift and maintain forklift certification.
• Ability to coordinate and communicate effectively and professionally with internal (operations) and external (vendors) and customers.
• Maintain a professional work ethic and good customer service attitude.
• Initiative and integrity a must.
