Purpose

The Stores Clerk II ensures that all departments have the necessary food and supplies for the operation. Responsible for receiving, checking, marking, storing, and issuing supplies, and for maintaining stock records and preparing reports. Prepares receiving reports for incoming shipments. Unpacks, identifies, weighs, and checks goods for conformity with the original order and stores them in the proper storage area. Completes full warehouse inventories on a weekly and monthly basis. Loading, unloading, preparing, inspecting, and operating the delivery vehicles.

Responsibilities

Load, unload, prepare, inspect, and operate delivery vehicles in compliance with UHD standards. Deliver a wide variety of items, including surplus equipment and furniture, on a case-by-case basis. Communicate professionally and effectively with staff, supervisory staff, and/or customers. Maintain current knowledge of all areas of responsibility. Provide excellent customer service. Follow delivery driving routes and time schedules. Maintain delivery logs and records. Transport dining unit invoices, assets and transfers to UHD transportation hub.

Receive deliveries of all merchandise. Unpack, identify, and check goods for conformity with original order. Store items in the proper storage areas. Inspect for expiration dates, product quality, and damages. Ensure proper labeling and storage of products, follow first in first out (FIFO) guidelines.

Prepare outgoing shipments by crating, packing, labeling and arranging for delivery. Complete weekly inventories.

Provide routine clerical and manual work in receiving, storing, and issuing equipment, materials, and other supplies. Responsible for receiving, checking, marking, storing, and issuing supplies, and for maintaining stock records and preparing reports.

May make minor repairs to equipment. May assemble stock items shipped. Operate and inspect forklifts, pallets jacks, delivery van, trucks, and dollies to ensure safe operation of warehouse equipment. 

Adhere to written and oral University and UHD policies such as time and attendance and UHD / UT trainings and compliance. Complete and maintain required food safety training, including Texas Food Handler Safety. Follow work safety guidelines and utilize proper PPE as needed. Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

High school graduation, GED or vocational school.

One year of experience in stock handling and/or maintaining records. Experience may include receiving, storing, issuing and inventory in stores / warehouse unit or similar.

Ability to complete and maintain Food Safety Training required by University Housing and Dining.

Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

Two years or more experience in stock handling and/or maintaining records. Experience may include receiving, storing, issuing and inventory in stores / warehouse unit or similar.

Experience reconciling invoices to ensure accurate product delivery.

Experience with delivering products.

Ability to multi task and work with little supervision.

Professional demeanor and demonstrated ability to work effectively with others and in a team environment. 

Driving Required

This job requires a class "C" operator's driver's license. The applicant selected must provide a current three year driving record from the current state of residence. If not currently a Texas resident, a Texas driver's license must be obtained within 30 days of becoming a Texas resident. Employees who are required to have a CDL are subject to drug and alcohol testing (pre-employment, post-accident, reasonable suspicion, random, return-to-duty, and follow-up drug and alcohol testing).

Salary Range

$41,600+ depending on qualifications
