About The Job
Dudek is seeking a highly skilled Stormwater Engineer with 6+ years of experience, emphasizing plan production and technical leadership. The ideal candidate will manage project phases of varying scopes, lead technical aspects of stormwater design projects, and produce high-quality deliverables. This role involves mentoring junior staff, maintaining collaborative relationships with project teams, and leveraging technical expertise to contribute to business development efforts.

Duties and Responsibilities (may include some or all of the below):
Technical tasks include, but are not limited to:
• Operate as a lead designer on stormwater plan production (plans, specifications and estimates), providing subject matter expertise and guidance.
• Develop and review technical reports, studies, and high-quality project deliverables.
• Manage project phases, including oversight of field teams, ensuring scope, schedule, and budget adherence.
• Train, mentor, and provide feedback to junior staff on technical skills, work products, and career development.
• Maintain strong relationships with project managers, internal teams, and clients to support collaboration and effective communication.
• Lead specific project phases, monitoring progress to meet financial targets.
• Stay informed on emerging technologies and industry trends, applying innovative solutions to projects.
• Support business development efforts by contributing to proposals, project pursuits, and strategic client initiatives.
• Ensure safety protocols are followed by all project team members.
Minimum Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
• 6-10 years of experience in stormwater engineering, with demonstrated expertise in design and plan production.
• Strong technical writing and communication skills.
• Proficiency with drainage analysis, grading, pipe design, and/or stormwater BMP design.
• Familiarity with relevant software, such as AutoCAD/Civil3D, ArcGIS, and HEC-RAS.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and have active personal automobile liability insurance by first day of employment

Preferred Qualifications
• Familiarity with modeling and design software, including AES/CivilD, SWMM, and WSPGW.
• Expertise in plan development including preparation of project specifications and cost estimates.
• Familiarity with California municipal, industrial, and construction NPDES programs.
• Track record of leveraging technical skills to support client relationships and business growth.
Physical Requirements
Working Conditions:
+ This job operates in a remote or office-based environment and this role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printers, etc.
+ This job requires occasional project site visits-based outdoors which can include excessive noise, uneven walking surfaces, extreme weather, moving vehicles and equipment.

+ This job requires working on a computer, sitting or standing for long periods of time in an office or remote office setting.
+ This job requires attending meetings, both in person and virtually as well as speaking on the phone with peers, clients, etc. Speaking, hearing and listening are required.
+ Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Proposed Salary Range: $100,000-$130,000 annually*
*Final agreed upon compensation will be based on a variety of factors including but not limited to an individual’s related experience, education, certifications, skills, and work location.
