Weston & Sampson is currently seeking a Hydrologic & Hydraulic Project Manager with 5+ years of experience for a position in our Water Discipline out of our Suffern, NY office location. The position will focus on projects that involve hydrologic and hydraulic modeling in complex urban environments and integrating coastal, riverine, and piped infrastructure flooding environments.
What you’ll do:
Typical projects include:Rainfall-runoff models to support dam safety, climate resilience planningEvaluation of complex hydraulic settings, including combinations of open channel, piped infrastructure, rain-on-grade, and coastal floodingReservoir mass balance modeling incorporated into innovative client/user interfacesDam safety related projects such as design flood identification, dam rehabilitation alternatives analyses, breach analyses, and inundation mappingSupervise, train, and mentor less experienced project engineers and designersSupport the evaluation, study, and design of stormwater systems for municipal clients, including providing stormwater master planning services and designs to support both flood mitigation and water quality improvementsProvide field evaluation and assessment of existing stormwater infrastructureSupport the design of green infrastructure and nature-based solutions for treatment of stormwaterConduct and coordinate analyses and computer-aided evaluations of surface water systems, including watersheds, rivers, and lakesModel and design stormwater BMPs, green infrastructure, and LID projectsPrepare FEMA Letter of Map Revision applicationsParticipate in site project designsCommunicate and prepare written, verbal, and technical information clearly and effectively with clients and internal multidisciplinary teamsAssist with business development, marketing, and proposal preparation
What you will bring:
Bachelor’s in Civil or Environmental Engineering, Hydrology, or similar degree is required. Master’s is a plus5+ years’ experience of surface water hydrology and collection system hydraulicsExperience developing HydroCAD, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, PCSWMM, and ICM, as well as 2D (required experience) and 3D (preferred experience) numerical modelingExperience developing models to support a wide range of project types, such as stormwater drainage infrastructure and BMP design, green infrastructure and LID projects, coastal flooding analyses, and dam safety projectsCertified Floodplain Manager preferredProject management experience, to include technical oversight and QA/QC experienceMarketing, proposal development and client management experience preferredValid driver’s license is required for limited travel to client meetings
Salary Range: $95,400 - $122,110 based on experience
