Gannett Fleming is seeking a Stormwater Project Engineer offering strong technical expertise to join our Water practice in Houston or Fort Worth, TX offices.
In this role, you will be instrumental in shaping the infrastructure that supports and protects communities. By developing critical drainage impact studies, master plans, and innovative design solutions, you will help mitigate flooding, enhance public safety, and support sustainable development. Your work on complex hydrologic and hydraulic (H&H) projects will directly influence the well-being of residents, ensuring that roadways, neighborhoods, and public spaces remain accessible and secure in the face of natural challenges. Through your leadership and expertise, you’ll be contributing to long-term resilience and improving the quality of life for countless people, all while collaborating with a dedicated team to deliver essential public infrastructure.
Responsibilities:
Lead the development of drainage impact studies, master plans and engineering reports (including CLOMRS & LOMRS)Lead the development of project design concepts, criteria, construction plans and reviews project documents for conformity and quality assuranceWorks with client and other disciplines to prepare appropriate designs, as dictated by the scope of workAnalyzes complex design problems requiring the development of new or improved techniques or proceduresConsults with construction personnel concerning design constructabilityProvides input for proposals and pursuit of new projectsProvides direction to and supervision for junior level staffMakes recommendations on project staffingCommunicates independently with clientsManages design team integrated with multiple disciplines of about 5-10 peopleMinimum Requirements
BS in Civil EngineeringProfessional Engineer (PE) License8+ years of applicable H&H experienceExpertise with ArcGIS, HEC-RAS (1D/2D), HEC-HMS, XP SWMM (1D/2D)AutoCAD/Microstation (preferred)Expertise with MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook)Experience with project proposals and presentationsExcellent oral and written communication skillsSome experience with management of small work groups and project tasksAt Gannett Fleming, we believe in improving the lives of the people we serve.
