About the Role & Team
Disney Television Animation is looking for Storyboard Artists to join an Unannounced Disney Junior Series! In this role, you will be responsible for transforming a script into a scene-by-scene visual story. From rough thumbnails through to final panels, your storyboard sequences will help bring the style and vision of the show to life.
What You Will Do
Create storyboards: from thumbnail/rough storyboard panels through delivery of finished storyboard sequencesEnsure that the vision and style of the show is consistently adhered to through execution of action, staging, dialogue and cameraPitch storyboards, address notes from Director and Creative Supervisors, and revise as necessaryCollaborate with creative department heads and production to review goals and vision for the storyboards and discuss concerns, timelines and complexity, given the parameters of the schedule; Responsible for completing all deliverables on time and according to production schedule and within guidelines/show parameters such as number of scenes, complexity requirements, etc.Ensure that storyboard includes all final dialogue, backgrounds, direction, camera moves and action by making drawing or text changes in description, dialogue or numberingSubmit work that appropriately aligns with production and workflow guidelines requirements (i.e., naming conventions and storage)Additional duties as necessary, or as defined by individual contractsRequired Qualifications & Skills
Minimum of 2 years storyboard experience and/or training on a similar showKnowledge of software and hardware including Cintiq, Toon Boon Storyboard Pro, and PhotoshopAbility to align with the style and sensibility of show, including the ability to draw characters and environments on model within a particular show styleA portfolio that demonstrates staging, composition and cinematography skills, along with strong comedy, action, emotional storytelling, and character interactionsAbility to write clear and specific direction on storyboardsConsistent time-management skills and the ability to meet deadlinesPreferred Qualifications
Prior knowledge and experience working in television animation production pipelinesPrior experience working on a CG show for a preschool audienceEducation
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in a related field, or equivalent combination of training and experience.
The pay rate for this role in California is $61.12 to $65.49 per hour, which follows the pay scale agreed upon in the Collective Bargaining Agreement. The base pay actually offered may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, among other factors.
