• Teaching Period: (10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.) Monday – Friday Number of positions: 1 Department: 702 - Center for Access Success and Achievement Contact Name: Marquis Coates Contact Phone/Extension: 9-4096 Position Summary Information Job Description Summary: Performs a variety of skilled duties to provide Math instruction and assistance to students with the goal of creating an optimal environment for student learning.
• Instruct Math classes throughout the program (Monday- Friday 10am-12pm).
• Host office hours from 12pm-12:45pm (Mon-Fri)
• Attend and participate in planning and feedback meetings.
• Provide updates to STOVS director and professors regarding student concerns and needs.
• Be available for student questions and concerns via email throughout the program Requirements: • Must be available from July 8-27, 2024• Must have a strong background in Math.
• Advanced knowledge of material in introductory Statistics, and Calculus I.
• Experience and comfort in teaching students
• Excellent interpersonal skills to relate easily & effectively with students and faculty.
• Knowledge of issues of difference in higher education, particularly educational equity.
• Use initiative to organize and follow through with complex tasks to meet deadlines.
• Proven ability to use MS Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat.
• Possess traits of good judgment that align with the University’s mission.
