Strategic Account Technical Manager, Industrial Water Treatment
**GENERAL DESCRIPTION** Strategic Accounts are ChemTreat’s most significant and valuable customers. The Strategic Account Technology Manager is responsible for maintaining and expanding these relationships, fostering long-term customer loyalty by enhancing profitability and growth for both ChemTreat and our clients. The ideal candidate will be a high-energy individual with extensive technical and business knowledge of the refining industry, exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, a competitive drive, and a proven history of building successful cross-functional teams. This dynamic leader will understand refinery operations and how ChemTreat’s offerings help customers achieve their operational, business, and safety objectives. They will assist in developing and delivering vision and strategy to our customers’ executive levels, providing both tangible and intangible solutions to meet financial and system needs. **ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES** + Utilize all available CTI resources (including BPGA and CAP programs) at designated customer locations to identify gaps between current operations/programs and Industry Standards/Best Practices. This involves learning customer operations and understanding their challenges to proactively minimize potential equipment and other failures due to chemical, mechanical, or operational issues. + Candidate should possess and articulate high level proficiency with water treatment technology including chemical program design, and account management excellence. + Candidate will be responsible for coordinating account level technical execution aligned to ChemTreat tech staff recommendations and BPGA findings and recommendations. + Clearly communicate identified gaps to all stakeholders, both internal and external (customers), including the costs of implementation and the costs of continued non-compliance. + Build a cohesive team among FOS, technical services, and corporate sales to ensure customer needs are met. + Be accountable for the implementation, monitoring, and results of our programs and services. Own the list of identified gaps and the implementation of solutions to bridge these gaps. + Develop internal benchmarking and share best practices among any “sister” refineries. + Articulate product, equipment operation, and mechanical gaps and solutions to customers and sales representatives. + Manage workflow diagrams that show clear lines of communication and responsibilities at each refinery. + Train customers, field sales representatives, and other ChemTreat associates as required. + Leverage ChemTreat’s resources and capabilities to create value-added solutions, bid assistance, and coordinating the involvement of necessary ChemTreat personnel. + Develop and maintain key relationships through business and social events to support customer relationships. + Work with the Vertical Director to support and expand ChemTreat’s presence in key industry and trade organizations and trade shows. **KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS** + Ability to utilize Voice of Customer (VOC) and Voice of Salesperson (VOS) to segment and prioritize customer needs. + Conceptual sales skills with the ability to sell concepts and solutions eternally and internally. + Ability to deliver value-added results that provide customers with a competitive advantage in the marketplace. + Ability to build collaborative teams across regions, functions, and businesses. + Technical and analytical skills, along with business knowledge. + Strong communication and interpersonal skills; teamwork and leadership abilities. + Organizational skills and self-management. + Self-motivated with an entrepreneurial mindset. **EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE** + Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a technical discipline. + Minimum of ten years’ experience in the refining industry, either in strategic sales or engineering at a refinery. + Travel expectations of 50 - 75%. + Proven track record of generating at least $5MM in new business. **PHYSICAL DEMANDS** + Constantly required to sit; occasionally required to walk, stand, climb (including stairs), balance, stoop, bend, kneel, crouch or crawl, and talk, hear, and smell. + Constantly using hands and fingers to handle, feel, or operate objects and computer keyboards. + Routinely required to reach with hands and arms, squat, turn/twist, or reach, lift, carry, push, or pull up to 20 pounds. + Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. + The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. + Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. **​** **​** **AT WILL STATEMENT** **​** ​Employment with ChemTreat is on an at-will basis, which means that either the employee or ChemTreat can terminate the employment relationship at any time and for any reason (or no reason), with or without notice, unless the employee and ChemTreat have entered a written agreement signed by the employee and a duly authorized representative of ChemTreat.​ **​** **​** **EQUAL OPPORTUNITY** **​** ​ChemTreat, Inc. is an Equal Opportunity Employer. An associate’s position within the salary range will be based on several factors, including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, any collective bargaining agreements, and business or organizational needs. The compensation range for this role is $170,000 - $200,000 USD per year. This job is also eligible for Commission Pay.
