Job Purpose:
Our Strategic Sales Professional will be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders at Strategic and Key account and prospect sites while continuously demonstrating the value that Veritiv brings to its customers. This role will own new business development, maintaining customer relationships, providing customer specific solutions, and meeting established sales growth targets. This position requires a competitive and motivated spirit with a proven ability to drive growth in a team-selling environment while solving problems through innovation and strategic thought leadership.Job Responsibilities:
● Manage and grow relationships to drive expansion in accordance with the account strategy as defined by the Strategic / Key Account Manager.● Proactively identifies new opportunities and supports the strategy creation process in collaboration with the Strategic / Key Account Manager.
● Ensure the effective implementation of new sites, products and value-added services.
● Understand and apply knowledge of Packaging/Facility Solutions industry trends to support sales growth, in alignment with strategy.
● Understand supplier landscape and innovations to guide customer-specific solutions.
● Develop and deliver custom presentations and business reviews on Veritiv solutions that could impact customer growth opportunities.
● Frequent use of Customer Relationship Manager (CRM) to schedule follow-up actions and record relevant information to build upon customer interactions.
● Create a professional network and represent the organization at business sector events to enhance the company brand.
● Act as an escalation point of contact for customer inquiries and complaints and proactively strive for resolutions in a timely manner.
● Actively leverage sales technology and tools to meet strategic account planning objectives and maximize customer and segment growth potential.
● Participate in training and development programs to enhance sales competencies and further expand ability to effectively generate profitable customer and segment growth.
● May be requested to perform other duties as assigned.
Additional Responsibilities & Qualifications:
● Experience and knowledge in Packaging /Facility Solutions is strongly preferred
● 25% travel required
● Demonstrates effective and impactful presentation skills to establish credibility and influence decisions.
● Demonstrates executive presence in both customer-facing and internal settings.
● 10+ years of successful sales experience; territory sales or account management preferred.
● Strong understanding or experience from a large, national distribution organization preferred.
● Demonstrate understanding of managing a customized sales cycle to provide solutions to clients.
Work Experience:
● 10-15 years of related job experience.● Ability to manage multiple projects, work under pressure, and adapt to sudden changes in the work environment.● Ability to work quickly and efficiently.● Basic experience of simple office/operational systems.● Excellent verbal, written, people, and diplomacy skills are required.● Experience of interpreting strategy and policy in order to set and deliver objectives.● Experience of planning, managing and organizing resources within short/medium timescales within the overall policy framework.● Experience with Salesforce.com or other CRM is preferred.● Strong customer service skills (friendly, courteous and helpful).● Strong planning and organization skills are required.Education:
● Bachelor's Degree PreferredPhysical Requirements:
● A significant portion of the job responsibilities will require computer work that involves the continuous use of the fingers, hands, wrists, and sitting for long periods of time.
● The position also requires frequent lifting and/or moving up to 10 pounds.
● The position requires work in an office as well as travel to customers, suppliers, group meetings, etc.
