At Weir Minerals Venlo we are looking for a Strategic Buyer to strengthen our Procurement team and who is dedicated to building a better future. In this role you are strategically responsible for managing the suppliers of Weir Minerals Venlo. You ensure that we have an excellent selection of suppliers. When we join a new supplier, you take care of the entire process from start to finish. Besides that you will initiate improvement projects and make sure the department is ready for the future. As a Strategic Buyer you will have a role where you can make a lot of impact when it comes to continuous improvement in the organization. To deliver the best results, you need to know where the bottlenecks are within the company and department.  

Responsibilities

A selection of the tasks and responsibilities:

Identification of the business risks related to goods to be purchased and takes actions to cover these risks as much as possibleYou will identify opportunities for cost reduction and take the lead in the implementation of those.Worldwide sourcing of new suppliers;Contract negotiation with our suppliers and Contractually drafting of all delivery conditions;Setup annual contract management plans, category plan development and execution;In this role, a close collaboration between you, the Commodity Buyer and Operational Buyer will be crucial.

Skills & qualifications 

Completed education on bachelor degree level, preferably in Supply Chain, Business Administration or Business Economics;You bring 5 years work experience as Strategic Buyer;Fluency in English language, verbally as well as in writing. It is a bonus if you also speak Dutch or German!You have experience with experience with ERP systems, preferably SAP and a completed NEVI 1 + NEVI 2 Course or a similar Procurement training course.

You can be persistent when needed and convincing towards our suppliers to make sure they uphold the agreements made,You bring a result driven mindset, you’re accurate and good at planning and organizing;Background in a technical (Manufacturing) organization;willingness to travel (20%).
