Your Challenge
Reviewing designed systems, equipment, materials, and features to reduce acquisition and manufacturing costs
Ensuring products are optimized through design or process optimization
Leading value engineering activities for key projects through business case approval
Identifying opportunities for cost and value optimization through cross-functional collaboration
Collecting and measuring industry metrics
Develops multiple sources of supply for commercial and custom fabricated parts
Coordinates purchasing activities with manufacturing, planning and engineering departments to acquire inventory in a cost effective and timely manner
Processes purchase requisitions, purchase change orders and requests for quotes to suppliers associated new items and suppliers
Monitors the cost, schedule and scope of assigned subcontracts to negotiate highest quality at best value
Recommend cost saving proposals including make-versus-buy analysis or alternative sourcing
Interacts closely with suppliers and QA to resolve quality issues being qualified
Works with management to address all aspects of commodity management, including procurement support, commodity business plans, market trends assessment, pricing, and product availability
What You Bring
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering; Master’s degree preferred
5 years of purchasing experience in an engineered products manufacturing environment
Strong knowledge in ERP / MRP software which drives purchasing, product structures and order fulfillment
Strong in data analytics
Expert communications and negotiations skills
Fluent in the English language; Proficiency in French is a plus
Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
Excellent communication skills and the ability to build customer relationships
Ability to think on your feet and make quality decisions
