We are currently looking for our future **Strategic Buyer** who will be based in **LH Group (a Division of Wabtec UK Ltd), Burton on Trent.** **Who will you be working with?** You will be reporting to the Commodity & Purchasing Analyst Manager. **How will you make a difference?** As a Strategic Buyer, you will lead the purchasing team to optimize procurement processes and achieving cost efficiency. This includes spearheading cost reduction initiatives by identifying and implementing strategies to lower expenses without compromising quality. Effective supplier selection is crucial, requiring thorough evaluation and negotiation to ensure the best possible terms and relationships to align with organizational goals. **What do we want to know from you?** + You are CIPS qualified, or you have equivalent Business Degree. + You have background in purchasing, procurement, or supplier management. + You have proven track record of successfully partnering with various suppliers. + You can demonstrate the ability to utilize creative and effective procurement strategies to acquire services while maintaining supplier relationships. + You have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written. + You are Fluent in English (writing, reading, speaking, listening). **What will your typical day look like?** + You must deploy a strategy to aid the delivery of annual deflation aspirations. + You have to support business planning processes in collating the budget material spend ambition. + You need to facilitate regular review of actual and planned deflation and inflation. + You are responsible for creation of plans and strategies to deliver reductions or negate increases. + You must undertake contract reviews for key accounts and purchases above £0.5m. + You need to implement SLAs / FWA’s/ Rebate programs with suppliers where necessary. + You have to develop KPIs to measure performance vs budget. + You must work closely with the purchasing manager to deliver a procurement strategy on dual-sourcing existing products of high importance.
