The Opportunity:
The Strategic Consultant demonstrates and positions the value of the Roche portfolio to our customers. This field-based position creates value by strategically focusing on complex total laboratory solutions to improve and enable the customers' desired future outcomes. This position partners with customers and internal stakeholders (sales, global Lifecycle teams, marketing, IT, and other organizations) to create or provide a visionary path to address customers' unique priorities, challenges, and needs through continuous improvement efforts. As a result, this fosters and supports sales opportunities and positions commercial opportunities for Roche Consulting.
Key Roles & Responsibilities:
Engagement and Strategy:
Proactively engage with Sales, Marketing, and Corporate Accounts to drive consulting strategy for strategic customers.
Provide pre-sales support for developing complex diagnostic solutions.
Lead the early adoption of new technologies within the Core Lab business.
Collaboration and Partnership:
Partner with Global Lifecycle teams to deliver up-to-date visionary solutions.
Serve as a liaison for Marketing to deliver impactful market and competitive information.
Collaborate with Roche Consulting colleagues to refine and evolve proprietary tools and techniques.
Consulting Services:
Deliver consulting services such as Visioning Workshops, Diagnostic Network Optimization, Integrated Facility and Process Design, and Rapid Improvement Methodologies.
Utilize specific methods and tools like TVO strategy, cobas workflow simulators, and Salesforce.com.
Training and Development:
Facilitate RC training for sales, service, and customer teams.
Develop, refine, and evolve high-value deliverable templates and best practices.
Provide a consultative approach and lead strategic initiatives for the Commercial Organization.
Feedback and Administration:
Collect and provide feedback to ensure Roche Consulting solutions meet client needs and function according to specifications.
Perform administrative duties such as creating and submitting expense reports and status reports, and adhere to regulatory requirements.
Who you are:
Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, computer science, healthcare or a related field
Preferred Experience/Skills:
5 years of direct or indirect leadership experience delivering and managing consulting services using Lean Six sigma or similar continuous improvement analytical tools/processes in a laboratory and/or healthcare setting.
3+ years of commercial experience in a sales, service-oriented, or consulting environment
Able to travel +75% of the time
Master’s degree in business or healthcare discipline (MBA, MHA, MHSA, MPH)
Black Belt, Master Black Belt, and/or Champion certification in Lean Six Sigma or other similar, advanced continuous improvement certification
Advanced verbal and written communication skills to influence customer decision-makers by articulating ideas and influencing others to adopt solutions. This includes the ability to credibly recommend changes to lab practices to improve waste, cost, quality, and turnaround times.
Ability to use analytical methods and applications to support consulting engagement conclusions and recommendations.
Strong organization and analytical skills to uncover key technical, operational, and strategic issues.
Ability to help define and contribute to new business concepts with RDC’s total solution, including creating and delivering professional services, and creating methods, and tools.
Advanced verbal and written communication skills to influence customer decision-makers by articulating ideas and influencing others to adopt solutions. This includes the ability to credibly recommend changes to lab practices to improve waste, cost, quality, and turnaround times.
Strong interpersonal skills to effectively lead, manage, and influence people at various organizational levels internally and within the customer site.
General understanding of IVD Laboratory Solutions and their workflow/functioning; within the lab and at an institutional level.
Familiarity with Roche and/or competitor products.

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of Indianapolis is $113,900.00 - $211,500.00. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance. This position also qualifies for the benefits detailed at the link provided below.
