**Strategic Engagement Director**
The Strategic Engagement Director will develop and execute a holistic strategy to enhance the awareness, engagement, and understanding of Bayer’s digital farming portfolio and platforms to support employee engagement, internal communications and partner to develop external communications. In this role, you will drive positive storytelling across our four regional business units, Carbon, and Combyne businesses and our four global technical communities to support business goals. You will be responsible for understanding global organizational engagement and communication needs as well as the future direction of Bayer, Crop Science and Digital Farming Solutions(DFS) to create and execute a comprehensive communication strategy.
This role will serve as a strategic partner to the Head of DFS and DFS LT members by delivering expert counsel, engaging content, and implementing a communications and employee engagement strategy for the global Digital Farming organization. You will drive and deliver programs to support employee engagement in a tailored manner to our globally and technically diverse employee audience. The role reports to the Vice President of Operations within the Digital Farming Solutions function, and coordinates activities in collaboration with the Crop Science Employee Engagement Communications function.
YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The primary responsibilities of this role are:
+ Strategic Engagement Communication Development: Design and implement a holistic communications & employee engagement strategy aligned with the goals of Digital Farming Solutions. Provide ongoing counsel and strategic direction to the Head of DFS and the DFS leadership team, ensuring seemless and effective messaging on critical initiatives.
+ Content Creation and Management: Develop clear, concise, and engaging content for various channels, owning and delivering DFS specific content (e.g., BayerNet, DFS sharepoint, All Hands) and partner with CS Comms to amplify to external platforms when appropriate (e.g. LinkedIn, presentations, events). Translate complex technical information into accessible language for diverse audiences to facilitate understanding of digital priorities and employee needs. Manage contract agencies to help drive and deliver programing to extend overall impact of programs as needed. Execute local events as needed.
+ Stakeholder Engagement & Collaboration: Foster collaborative relationships with DFS leadership, CS comms teams, regional commercial comms teams, and other business units to ensure alignment on communication initiatives. Contribute to Bayer / Crop Science communication and employee engagement programs as needed including crisis management for DFS sites. Proactively gather feedback with a mindset of continuous improvement.
+ Employee Communications: Support initiatives to raise awareness and educate employees on DFS portfolio, priorities, delivery progress, new processes and tools through a variety of mediums.
+ Analysis and Improvement: Drive continuous improvement in engagement and communication effectiveness by creating clear KPIs, tracking, reporting and adjusting strategic approaches based on clear and transparent metrics.
+ Manage select DFS communication assets: Own, maintain and update DFS templates, presentations, business content. Collaborate with the marketing teams in the DFS business units to maintain and utilize brand information and amplify key launches across the organization.
WHO YOU ARE
Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:
Required:
+ Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, or a related field, with 10 years relevant experience in communications, public relations, journalism or related experience. Content creation experience required.
+ Proven expertise in change management, high-stakes messaging, and writing for diverse, global audiences.
+ Excellence in creating compelling communications across multiple media formats including written, spoken, visual and audio.
+ Experience working with global leaders within large multinational corporations, demonstrating strong business acumen and communication skills.
+ Excellent judgment in adapting tone and style based on audience, timing, and context across various platforms.
+ Self-starter with ability to anticipate work and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a dynamic environment.
+ Demonstrated ability in developing and managing budgets.
+ Fluent in English with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
+ Ability to build relationships, confidently express opinions, and deliver comprehensive engagement and communication strategies to senior management and colleagues.
+ Proactive, self-motivated, with a keen attention to detail and a results-oriented approach.
+ Strong intercultural understanding, open to diverse perspectives, and comfortable working with colleagues across varied backgrounds and locations.
+ Ability to influence with no formal authority, inspiring others to align with communication goals.
Preferred:
+ Passionate about embracing and leading change, with the ability to create a compelling vision for the future of DFS communications.
+ Willingness to travel up to 10% as needed to support communication initiatives.
Employees can expect to be paid a salary of approximately between $141k to $212k. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant). Additional benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc..
